Apples, bananas, apricots – dried, sweet fruits are extremely popular snacks . Even when dried, fruits contain many nutrients and essential minerals such as potassium and phosphorus. Because of their large fiber content, an appropriate dried-fruit intake can have a positive effect on our digestive system.
Healthy intake but in moderation. Because water is extracted from the fruits while drying in hot air, they contain concentrated nutrients and fructose. In fact, dried fruits consist of 50 to 70% fructose, which largely explains their sweet and delicious taste. Moreover, dried fruits are a good snack for travelling and hiking, because they supply instant energy and can be kept longer than fresh fruits.
As nutritionists say, fresh fruits are more filling than dried fruits because they contain water.
But dried fruits are great when on the move and certainly more healthy than chocolate. They are indeed a good alternative for sweets and crisps, not least because they deliver loads of beneficial nutrients instead of fat.
